PEPPERMINT OIL PULLING HEARTS

This is a practice inspired by Ayurveda but not strictly found in any of the original texts. However the benefits of oil pulling for your oral health are well documented!

If you are new to oil pulling or if ( like me you want all the oral health benefits but struggle to swish plain oil around your mouth for 20 mins without gagging)..:. Let me introduce you to a solution: I make these little hearts using three simple ingredients - high grade edible peppermint oil ( I use @doterra ), organic cold pressed coconut oil and a simple silicone mould ( this one is meant to be for making little chocolates - you want something that holds around a tbsp of liquid) simply melt your coconut oil ( here I used around 100ml) and add 5-10 drops of peppermint oil. Pour into the mould and freeze. These will hold their shape nicely if you keep them in a cool, dark place ( moving to fridge when weather warms up). After lightly scraping your tongue and brushing your teeth you just pop one in, chew it until it dissolves and then swish around mouth and teeth for as long as poss (20 mins if you can). The cooling fresh peppermint taste makes this SO much more pleasant!! And added benefits of anti-fungal and anti-bacterial properties or the peppermint.

Don’t forget- don’t spit out into the sink or you will clog your pipes! I usually spit into a tissue and into the food waste or rubbish bin 💛
