Hi, I’m claire - a fully qualified Ayurvedic Consultant, reiki practitioner, Sound Healer, Author and columnist for Natural health magazine.

I am a member of the Ayurvedic Practitioners Association and the Complementary Medical Association.

In creating The Ayurveda Coach, I wanted to provide patients with a trusted place they could turn for complete healing of mind, body and soul - a place where you will be heard, understood and given tools to facilitate healing on many levels.

I FIRST HAD AN INTEREST IN AYURVEDA IN 2003, when I was desperately looking for a way to address the terrible menstrual migraines I had suffered from a young age. I did some reading around the subject but soon found myself confused about ‘doshas’ and what I should or shouldn’t be doing - so I gave up. I think a lot of people have shared that same process; They are drawn to Ayurveda, they intuitively know it holds the key for them, but don’t know where to begin or how to implement the teachings.

SO I STRUGGLED ON WITH THE MIGRAINES, trying everything from acupuncture and homeopathy to the contraceptive pill and beta blockers. My GP was sympathetic but unable to hep me address the root cause - only pills to help manage the symptoms. So I lived with the debilitating migraines. I went on to study Music at King’s College London, graduating from there and going on to complete my Masters in Conducting and Sound Recording. I enjoyed a 12 year career as a Music Agent for an International company.

IN 2016 I GAVE BIRTH TO MY DAUGHTER…. 8 weeks later I lost my Mum to Ovarian Cancer. These two life-changing events catapulted me into re-evaluating every part of my life. I knew I needed changes for both my mental and physical health, which was continuing to deteriorate at that time. During Mum’s final days I saw first-hand what suffering and pain looked like - up close and personal…. In the corridors of the ward, in the faces of the families visiting their loved ones and in the eyes of those who knew the end was near. I knew at that moment and in the weeks and months following her death that I wanted to commit to do something with my life that would make a difference, no matter how small, to others – to alleviate just one person’s suffering was now my goal. In what I can only describe as a flash of clarity, like a light bulb illuminating a dark room, the word AYURVEDA came back to me. I knew I could no longer ignore the pull towards immersing myself fully and a year or so later I found myself at my first lecture on the path to becoming a qualified consultant.

I STARTED THE AYURVEDA COACH IN LATE 2018 and have been fortunate to help 100s of patients since. In 2020 I was invited by Penguin Random House to pen a beginner’s guide to Ayurveda, and so ‘ Balance Your Agni’ was born. I am forever a student of Ayurveda – and honoured to be here to offer my help to you and share a small portion of what I have learned from this ocean of knowledge. If you are reading this and wondering if working with me will make a difference - I promise you, I will do all I can to help you find balance and harmony to Mind, Body & Soul.

(And in case you were wondering – I went through Ayurvedic treatment as part of my training and 6 months later those menstrual migraines were finally a thing of the past….)

LEARNING AYURVEDA AND HAVING THE OPPORTUNITY TO SHARE IT WITH OTHERS has been a deeply humbling experience. I continue to expand my knowledge through attending workshops, seminars and courses. I hope I can help make Ayurveda feel more accessible to others but it is also my aim to practise in a way that is as authentic as possible and honours the original teachings while making way for some inevitable adaptations according to the world we live in today.
