AYURVEDA FOR COLDS AND FLU

BANISH YOUR COLD WITH MY ‘GIMME 5’ IMMUNITY BOOSTING TEA

My “ gimme 5” Tea will help you get rid of a cold using principles of Ayurveda. Five cheap and easy ingredients that pack a massive anti-viral punch.

Cold season is here, you can’t move at my daughters school for coughs, sneezes and general snot! So it found its way here and I have been treating her ( and now me!) with everything I know!! Hers cleared up within a day or two: mine started yesterday and after being a walking talking sneezing machine for 12 hours I think I have stopped it in its tracks!! Necessity is the Mother of invention and so I got to work on making a tasty tea with five ingredients known to be anti viral, anti bacterial, anti microbial, anti fungal basically anti everything other than getting you better! Rosemary ( I strongly advise everyone to buy a cheap pot of rosemary from garden centre or supermarket and grow in a pot on windowsill or garden, it requires no attention and you will have rosemary all year round!), root ginger, cloves, cinnamon and honey.

Prepare as follows

Two cups of water into a saucepan. Add 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon, 3 slices of root ginger ( bash them a little to release oil) 6 cloves ( also bash a little before adding) and one sprig of rosemary like the size of one of the three pictured here ( bash the leaves too to release oils) simmer all of these gently for ten minutes. Take off the heat and strain. Allow to cool until warm ( this is important) before adding honey ( never add honey to boiling water according to Ayurveda wait until it has cooled to 40 degrees or add a little cold water to speed this up) then drink. Enjoy a few cups a days at first onset of cold or flu…let me know if you try it 🌿
